Confluence hall
PROJECT BRIEF
Confluence Hall, located outside Moab, Utah between the Wingate Cliffs and the La Salle Mountains, serves as the primary community space for the Colorado Outward Bound School’s Southwest Program. Built on the footprint of an existing trailer, the project reused the foundation and infrastructure to minimize cost and construction time.
Organized into four flexible zones—exterior gathering, interior gathering, cooking, and “the spa”—the building uses operable walls and integrated millwork to support gatherings of varying sizes. A shaded exterior walkway and folding canopy mitigate sun and wind, while salvaged insulated panels and rusted steel cladding connect the building to its landscape and campus context.
Let’s talk.
We start simple with a conversation - what are you hoping to do? Why are you hoping to do it? We’ll talk about your site, your goals, your timeline, and your budget. This is where we decide if we’re the right fit for each other. If we are not the right fit, I’m happy to make a referral.
